Terms of Service

Effective October 9, 2026

1. Using YouView

These terms apply to browsing, uploading, commenting, messaging, feeds, and embedded playback on YouView. YouView is an independent site operated by its site administrator and is not affiliated with YouTube or Google. Its current installation is accessible only on the operator's computer.

Use the site only if you agree to these terms and the Community Guidelines. The Privacy Policy explains how the site handles information. When you register, you must accept the terms and acknowledge that policy.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 to create an account. If you are below the age of legal adulthood where you live, obtain a parent or guardian's permission. Give accurate account information, keep your password private, and tell the administrator if someone accesses your account without permission. Do not impersonate others, use another person's account without authorization, or create accounts to evade a restriction.

3. Acceptable use

Follow applicable law and the Community Guidelines. Use the site's provided playback, sharing, and account controls. Do not bypass access restrictions, interfere with the service, distribute malicious software, harvest private information, send unwanted bulk messages, or manipulate views, votes, or subscriptions. Obtain administrator permission before running automation that burdens the service or collecting account data in bulk.

You may share links and use enabled embeds as intended. Access to a video does not grant permission to sell, redistribute, or reuse another creator's work beyond the site's features or permissions otherwise provided by the creator or law.

4. Material you contribute

You remain the owner of material you submit. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to share it, including music, images, recordings of other people, and any third-party clips. Material must comply with the Community Guidelines and applicable law.

By submitting material, you grant the operator a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission to store, copy, convert, create playback files and thumbnails, and display or transmit it as needed to operate YouView. This includes authorized service providers carrying out those tasks. Display and sharing must respect the visibility settings you select. Other users may access and share material through features you enable, such as links and embeds. Optional AutoShare authorizes sending the chosen public upload's information to your connected service.

This permission does not transfer ownership or authorize unrelated sale of your work. When material is removed, permission to publicly display it ends after removal is processed. Copies may remain in backups or records as described in the Privacy Policy. Copies already obtained or posted elsewhere may remain outside the operator's control.

5. Copyright and privacy concerns

If your work or private information appears without permission, contact the administrator with the affected page address, what you believe is wrong, your relationship to the material, and a way to respond. On this local instance you can also contact the administrator directly. Do not submit knowingly false complaints.

Copyright complaints and requests to review a removal are handled manually. Explain any permission, mistake, or lawful basis you believe applies. This local installation does not advertise a registered DMCA agent or an automated legal counter-notice procedure. Do not assume a site report substitutes for any formal legal process available to you.

6. Moderation and termination

The administrator may review reports, remove material, and restrict accounts for violations. Copyright Strikes and Community Guidelines violations have separate counts. Each strike stays active for 90 days unless revoked. Three active strikes of the same type in a rolling 90-day window permanently terminate the channel. Different types do not combine toward that threshold.

Termination makes the account, channel, and videos unavailable. Later expiry or revocation does not automatically undo termination. Serious abuse may also lead to removal or restrictions without waiting for three strikes. Notices and reasons are shown through account status or the termination screen; email delivery is not guaranteed. Ask the administrator to review a decision you believe is mistaken.

7. Service availability and outside services

The operator may change or discontinue features, limit uploads, or interrupt service for maintenance. Keep your own copies of important uploads. YouView does not guarantee uninterrupted access or the accuracy of user contributions. Third-party websites, social services, and advertising providers have their own terms and policies.

Ad placeholders do not establish a paid partnership. Channel partnership status or artwork features alone do not promise revenue, payments, or advertising approval. Any future commercial arrangement needs its own stated conditions.

8. Responsibilities and legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without a promise that every feature will work without error. The operator is not responsible for user statements merely because they appear on the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded, or prevents you from making a lawful complaint.

These terms do not impose mandatory arbitration, a particular court location, or a shortened deadline for legal claims. If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

9. Changes and contact

Revisions will be dated on this page. The administrator should explain significant changes before applying them; where required, renewed agreement will be requested. If you do not accept a revision, stop using the service and contact the administrator about removing your account and material.

Questions about these terms, complaints, and account requests can be directed to the site administrator.
